"Ultra Kaiju and Mononoke are now fused"
"What if Ultra monsters
appeared in Japan 555 years ago,
and the record remains as a Japanese traditional picture scroll ...? "

"Ultra Kaiju Mononoke Emaki" was imaginatively created by Mononoke artist Noriaki Tanimura.
"Ultra Q" and "Ultraman" celebrated the 55th anniversary of broadcasting this year. Approximately 80 monsters appearing in both works transform into "Mononoke" and march through a picture scroll that extends over 10m. An unprecedented scale of artwork was born by drawing with special painting materials created based on the natural materials.

An art project with a new interpretation that fuses the ancient Japanese "Mononoke" and the world-class "Kaiju" will color the anniversary of Ultraman and the ultra monster.
It's cute, but it looks a little scary.
It's Nostalgic, but somehow looks new.
Lively roam the world of picture scrolls
Please enjoy taking a closer look at the breath of the Kaiju.

"Living art that returns to the earth"
The material used for the Japanese traditional picture scroll is made from wild rice (Makomo), which has been native to the Jomon period and has been used in Japanese Shinto rituals. This is the only special traditional Japanese paper in the world that has been carefully produced by accumulating prototypes many times.
In addition, the painting materials are natural, such as ink made by dissolving natural mud purified by wild rice with ink, pigments made by kneading tiny residue of mud deposits collected from pieces of ancient Jomon pottery, and a special brush pattern with a fulgurite, known as "thunder fossil". It is a "living art" that returns to the earth by selecting and making full use of
the materials produced from nature.
Mononoke artist Noriaki Tanimura, who works on the theme of inheriting nature, climate, and culture, has voluntarily revered the spiritual monsters that live in the earth.
